Research Fellows of the International Laboratory for Nonprofit Sector Studies Delivered Reports at BASEES Conference
On March 28-30 Research Fellows of the International Laboratory for Nonprofit Sector Studies took part in the Conference organized by the British Association of Slavonic and East European Studies. The event is held annually in Cambridge in spring, with over 400 participants drawn from the UK but with many others from continental Europe and North America as well as Russia and Eastern Europe. This year the reports were dedicated to a wide range of topics, connected with East European countries, including literature, arts, history, politics, and society.
Ulla Pape, Senior Research Fellow of the laboratory delivered a report on ‘Evolving Patterns of Government-Nonprofit Cooperation in Russia’s Regions’. This project is dedicated to interaction between the government and non-profit organizations in Russia. The research will be carried out in 8 Russian regions in 2015, and will be focused on the functioning of support for socially oriented non-profit organizations.
Yulia Skokova, Junior Research Fellow of the laboratory also presented the results of her research, dedicated to the movement of election observers. In the report she provided the information on various ways of the development of this movement in different Russian regions, as well as built the hypothesis about the factors that influence this process.
