September 24 and 25 Academic Supervisor of Laboratory Lester Salamon gave a series of lectures to students of Faculty of Public Administration.

The lectures were devoted to questions of the theory and myths surrounding civil society, the foundations for cooperation between government and civil society. Lester Salamon, one of the leading researchers in this area, is Professor at Johns Hopkins University and Director of the Center for Civil Society Studies at that university. He is also Chairman of the Board of Chesapeake Community Foundation, and Member of the Editorial Boards for journals including Annals of Public and Cooperative Economics, Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, and Voluntas. Many of Salamon’s publications are used as the fundamental textbooks in most United States universities, and are the basis for defining civil society as a within the UN systems.
