Staff at the International Laboratory for Nonprofit Sector Studies took part in the 11 th international academic conference International Society for Third Sector Research.

Almost all Laboratory staff gave presentations – Vladimir Benevolenski, Irina Krasnopolskaya, Yulia Skokova, Lev Yakobson, Ulla Pape, Stefan Toepler, and Lester Salamon. 

The Russian staff’s presentations covered a wide range of issues related to the development of civil society and the not-for-profit sector in Russia, including: NGO support systems, the condition of the third sector as a whole, corporate volunteering, election monitor movement. Our international colleagues gave an overview of the results of their research into charity and the third sector. Academic Supervisor of the Laboratory, Lester Salamon, gave a talk on ‘Global Data on Philanthropy – What Researchers Need to Know’ during the plenary session.
